The gap
The trade is underserved.
Mezcal is one of the fastest-growing spirits categories in the world, and the UK is several years behind the United States in developing it. That lag is the opportunity.
Yet the trade struggles to buy well. Generalist distributors treat mezcal as one line among hundreds, with no category depth or producer-level storytelling. Single-brand producers cannot offer a curated range. And industrial product floods the market with smoky tequila imitations, making verifiable, artisanal mezcal hard to find.
Maguey & Co. was founded to close that gap — to be the specialist house the UK mezcal category has been missing.
